Teeth Whitening

We closely follow the latest treatment approaches to protect and restore your jaw, oral and dental health and to make it look aesthetic and beautiful.

Teeth whitening is a variety of procedures that ensure that the natural bone structure of the teeth is in the whitest and brightest state possible. Teeth become yellow and dull due to many factors. Thanks to whitening procedures, it may be possible to regain teeth in their former whiteness and shine.

Teeth whitening can be achieved in different ways. Teeth whitening can be done by the dentist in the clinic with laser or other methods. Not all ingredients produced for whitening are suitable for everyone’s oral and dental health. For this reason, it is important not to use the products on the market and sold with this promise, and if you want to use them, it is important to consult a physician.

How Is Teeth Whitening Performed?

It is the wish of many people to have white, bright teeth. Although there are various procedures, materials, etc. used for this purpose, the application should be done by the dentist in the safest way. Teeth whitening aims to lighten the color of the teeth by a few shades and can restore the natural white teeth appearance. This procedure targets stains on the enamel and is usually performed in the dentist’s office or through at-home treatments.

Teeth whitening treatments are usually performed using chemicals called hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. These agents break down stains on the enamel and make teeth appear whiter. The bleaching process may vary individually, but the steps of a general application are as follows;

  • Tooth stone etc. formations are cleaned.
  • The gums are covered with a protector.
  • A special gel is applied to the tooth surface.
  • The gel is activated with light or laser.
  • One or several sessions are repeated.

If teeth whitening is done at home, a tooth mold prepared by the dentist is given to the patient together with the whitening gel. Every day for a certain period of time, the tooth mold coated with this gel is kept in the mouth. Thus, a significant whitening of the tooth color occurs in about a week.

People who want to have brighter and whiter teeth may be concerned about the harm of this application. It should be known that bleaching is a very safe procedure in terms of harm. Only tooth sensitivity may occur for a while after the application. For this reason, it is recommended to protect the teeth from contact with very hot or cold for a while after the procedure.

However, there are some issues to be considered after the teeth whitening procedure.

  • In the first two days after the treatment, you should stay away from moons, coffee, cigarettes, etc. that may cause discoloration on the teeth.
  • It is also important not to neglect routine dental care and cleaning after teeth whitening.
  • The permanence of the procedure increases with regular dentist checks and the recommendations given by the dentist.
